So, I Started a Blog...

Welcome!
Can you imagine...a blog? Shamefully, if you're here, you know that I'm a pretty busy lady. I have plenty to do and a blog is another time consuming baby. To be honest, I'm not even sure I'm ready to reveal myself so intimately, but after much thought I figured it's worth sharing at least all the juicy BTS goodness I endure. The polished press is great but all the chaos involved in my insanely beautiful and hyper speed world is really where it's at!
Before I start, I'd like to thank you all for following my journey and constantly encouraging me. Your enthusiasm is the driving force motivating me to push harder each and every day. Now, with a blog, I feel obligated to let you in on a more personal level. At a glance, you see my feed and watch milestones unfold but I'd like to invite you in to see the process, the work and mostly, the woman behind the grind.
Let's start, shall we? A small and very important fact about me is prior to my first interview in 2012, I had no formal training, no college degree and I sure as hell didn't know a single person wanting to meet me.
Through it all, I somehow landed a career in the most exclusive industry just by hustling and not sleeping. #Teamnosleep
Pause. Yes, not a single journalism class. No cap and gown. Never even heard of a publicist.
Instead, I was a chef. I graduated with honors from culinary school in 2008 and immediately accepted a job in an exclusive country club. I worked a solid seven years there and never imagined I would do anything else. Little did I know my small idea of giving back would twist my fate and change my life.
Starting a new blog is my way of sharing my story. I already see the results of my hard work, passion, and genuine hunger for advancing but the struggle is the true story. Understand, I was comfortable. My career was stable, my family was content and the 9 to 5 probably would have been the easier route...but not for me.
This is the story of how I cooked during the day, attended events at night, scheduled interviews with celebrities, founded a non-profit, wrote a book and ended up in Cosmopolitan Magazine, all while being a mom to two boys and following my heart.
I admire a lot of people and always listen when they share personal stories, simple blueprints of raw and vulnerable moments ultimately leading them to success. I, by no means, am where I want to be, but I figured it could be quite motivational for someone on their personal journey to have someone to watch. Hey, it's a learning experience for me too. If I fall going left, you know to go right.
Enjoy the stories, learn from the experiences and I encourage you to explore life. Seek your purpose.
Thank you again for visiting and I hope to consistently inspire you to live your best life...because I'm sure as hell living mine!
XO,
Marjoriet
